Introduction
Fiberglass/Polyester Wood grain Textures, Printed, coloured Tissues and Logos are the latest international Innovation with respected to Surface Finishes of FRP/GRP Modulings.FRP accessories has perfected this development and we are actively engaged in further improvements, introducing new designs, and promotional work.
Usages
Wood grain Textures, Printed, Coloured Tissues and Labels/logo, developed by FRP Accessories opens up an entirely new perspective for surface finishes for the following identified usages with additional Possibilities.

  • Doors, Windows.
  • Partitions, Roofing Sheets, Panels, Ceilings Boards and Translucent Ceilings Panels.
  • Casings for water Coolers, Desert Coolers etc.
  • FRP Cladding for pillars, formwork,
  • Furniture – Cupboards & Cabinets, TV cabinets
  • Tube Light Translucent diffuser Covers,
  • Pultruded Banisters,
  • Interior Cabin skirting’s, well Dividers, Cornices,
  • Defence Items - Helmets, Boat Exteriors, Vehicle Parts, High Altitude Huts and Shelters.
  • Customized Brand Labels/Logos to be incorporated on FRP Molded Products.
  • Signboards.

Properties
Wood grain Textures and Printed Tissue Display similar laminating properties as Fiberglass Surfacing Veils/Mats in terms of Wet-Out, Glass/Resin ratio, Drape, Pliability and Porosity.
The Colour / dyes are light stable, will not smudge when laminating and are compatible with Polyesters Resins. Trials conducted in India show Fiberglass wood grain Textures, Printed & Coloured Tissues to conform to contours, without entrapping air bubbles. Glass to Resin ratio can be varied from 1:6 to 1:10 as required.
Unlike Plywood veneers FRP/GRP with these textures can be molded as Rounds, Ovals, Elipticals and other Smooth Curvatures.
Variety in Finish & Tints
Given the same Wood grain Texture, Printed, coloured Tissue and Labels/Logos, a range of laminate surface finishes and tints can be achieved by monitoring the would finish from matt-glossy –glassy. Also by varying the ratio of pigment blends in he laminating resin of the backup CSM layers, optimum laminate “tints” can be obtained as required by the end user.

Guidelines for using Fiberglass Wood Grain Textures,
Printed Tissue and Coloured Tissue in Hand Lay – up.

  • Finish the would to mat or glossy or glassy finish as required.
  • Apply Release agents Wax, PVA as normally done
  • Spray or Brush apply a liberal coat of Rooflite grade or clear GP grade Resin.
  • Lay the Fiberglass Wood grain Texture/Printed Tissue/Coloured Tissue. Ensure its wet out on immediate contact without folds or wrinkles. Brush stippling can be done by vertical stippling. Do not undertake forward to backward brush movements as this will displace the fibres and the design.
  • Wet out the fiberglass texture thoroughly with additional clear Resin and allow to cure to touch tackiness.
  • Build up to the required thickness with Fiberglass chopped Strand Mat or Woven Roving layers thoroughly impregnated with pigmented Orthopthalic Resin for Colured Opaque Laminates/Mouldings or Rooflight Resins for Translucent End uses.
  • Roll lightly only if necessary and allow to cure.

SPECIFICATION,   CHARACTERISTICS AND   APPLICATION
These Tissues are used in the Surface layers of FRP Products to combine the essential needs of a Resin rich layers with the aesthetics, design and colour of the FRP moulding.
CHARACTERISTICS

  • Uniform fibre distribution.
  • Smooth surface
  • Soft and Pliable feel.
  • Low binder and stainer content
  • Fast Resin Impregnation
  • Good mould obedience

To comply with the needs for Hand lay- up the Mat/Veil/Tissue is technically monitored in terms of fibre Characteristics binder content and stainer/dye   curib0ng and fixing. So that it obeys mould contours with quick resin impregnation. These textures are engineered for Hand lay-up right from the fibre characteristics, binder and stainer as well as fibre distribution.
If one followings our Technical Note the textures are capable of enhancing the surface finish as well as the under layers of the FRP Moulding to high aesthetic levels of appearance and finish so as to create high gloss/high matt surfaces with improved strength and corrosion resistance.
